Give your corporate team a one-of-a-kind hands-on sewing workshop that inspires creativity, collaboration, and purpose. Learn how to confidently use sewing machines, thread needles, and complete a meaningful project — all while supporting UMAI Foundation’s free creative programs for children facing cancer and trauma. The workshop is designed to last approximately three hours and is ideal for groups of up to 20 participants. No experience is needed as we’ll guide your team from the very first stitch. During this interactive workshop, participants will:

• Learn how to set up and confidently operate a sewing machine.
• Understand how to thread the machine, select and change needles, and adjust the machine speed.
• Practice essential sewing techniques in a supportive, relaxed environment.
• Complete and take home a meaningful project they’ve made themselves — a badge of confidence and accomplishment.

By the end of the session, every team member will walk away with new skills, new confidence, and a project they can be proud of, all while supporting UMAI Foundation’s mission to bring healing through creativity to children facing cancer and trauma. Picture eight-year-old Maya, sewing her first pillow in our hospital program—it’s moments like these that your contributions make possible.

Corporate Team Building: Embroidery Machine Masterclass | UMAI Foundation

Strengthen your company culture with our Embroidery Team Building Experience — where your team learns to stitch and personalize “Snuggle Buddies” for children in hospitals.

No experience needed — our instructors guide every step, from setup to sewing. With the help of our friendly instructors from School of Couture, your team will discover the world of embroidery machines—learning to personalize and stitch adorable, soft "Snuggle Buddies" that will be lovingly donated to children facing cancer, trauma, or hospitalization. Experience not needed. We provide everything: embroidery machines, materials, training, and a dedicated team.

• Hands-on introduction to embroidery machine basics
• Learn how to select, thread, and operate the machine.
• Add custom details (names, hearts, symbols, or messages) to plushie patterns.
• Complete a soft, huggable “Snuggle Buddy” — to donate or take home proudly.
• Connect through creativity, purpose, and shared joy.

Every Snuggle Buddy made during this session becomes a gift of comfort, a spark of joy, and a reminder to a child that they are seen, loved, and not alone.

With guidance from UMAI Foundation’s instructors, participants will learn to use professional sewing machines to design and sew cozy pajamas for children in hospitals. Not only will you pick up new skills, but you’ll also touch lives in a meaningful way. Guided by expert instructors from the School of Couture, you’ll master the art of using a professional sewing machine, from threading the needle to stitching garments that truly make a difference.

What your team will learn:

• How to set up, thread, and confidently use a sewing machine
• How to select appropriate fabrics, adjust stitch settings, and handle seams
• The basics of sewing clothing, using a real project: making a pair of pajamas for a child in need
• Teamwork through a shared creative mission that leaves a lasting impact

Why it Matters: Each pair of pajamas created will be donated to a child in need of warmth, comfort, and care. Whether they’re worn in a hospital bed or taken home after treatment, they’re a hug in the form of handmade love.

Led by expert educators from the School of Couture, participants design wall pieces that brighten pediatric rooms and therapy spaces, turning sterile walls into places of warmth and creativity.

Every stitch becomes part of a child’s healing journey — and every project supports UMAI Foundation’s free creative arts programs for children.

What Your Team Will Experience:

• Learn both hand and machine sewing techniques.
• Work with textures, fabrics, and layered materials to create engaging wall art.
• Collaborate on interactive designs (like zippered pockets, lift-the-flap felt animals, and stitched sensory panels)
• Create pieces that will be donated to hospitals, clinics, and care centers serving children.

Children in medical settings often face long, difficult days. The interactive wall art your team creates will transform sterile walls into spaces of comfort, creativity, and connection — bringing light to children during their hardest moments.

100% of the proceeds from this experience go directly to UMAI Foundation’s creative healing programs for children. This support will fund the installation of 10 new murals in hospitals and provide over 50 hours of creative therapy, reaching more than 1,000 children each year.
