 At UMAI Foundation, fashion and design classes give children more than creative skills — they give them a voice. Through sketching, experimenting with colors and textures, and turning drawings into real garments, kids discover the joy of self-expression. For children facing cancer, the ability to imagine, design, and then wear their own creation is deeply healing and empowering. It builds confidence, sparks imagination, and helps them see themselves not only as patients, but as designers with limitless potential.

Our structured design curriculum ensures steady growth while inspiring imagination and courage:

• Learning to sketch ideas, shapes, and silhouettes with guidance from mentors
   
• Exploring colors, textures, and fabrics to bring ideas to life
   
• Practicing visualization, problem-solving, and design planning step by step
   
• Using professional tools and materials to transform sketches into garments
   
• Completing each design from first draft to wearable outfit
   
• Presenting their unique fashion pieces at UMAI’s annual runway showcase, celebrated by family and community
